Leaving the party before your guests do.

The title of this story may not be as straight forward as it seems. I have several friends that this has happened to-they can submit their own stories. I had a dinner party for 10. I was having a mad dash of an afternoon-I’d worked all day and then came home to prepare the meal at the last minute.

This in itself isn’t that bad, having worked in a kitchen for quite a while I have learned how to pull a rabbit out of a hat so to speak. I managed to make a very nice dinner, but I forgot to get a baguette to serve with it. (my first embarrassing moment- I served wonderbread with butter) Let’s just say a few of the people at the dinner party were familiar with the sandwich bread and weren’t all that excited about it. Oh well, life does go on.

I did serve some really strong apperatifs and proceeded, along with my guests, to get very tipsy. We all had wine during dinner and the drunkenness just got worse. I forgot to mention that I had eaten very little all day.

I managed to get up during dinner to change the music. How, I don’t know-I could barely walk. Anyway my husband found me sitting on the floor next to the stereo. He escorted me upstairs and took my clothes off-he did leave my thong on and put me on the floor next to a barf bowl. I used the barf bowl during the next hour.

One of my female guests at the dinner party decided she would check on me after my husband told her what had become of me. She found me with my butt up in the air and the rest of me naked as a baby. It was not pretty sight.

I guess at that point my other female dinner guests were coming up stairs to check on me-so my friend had the presence of mind to get me covered up and in bed. Thank goodness!-I didn’t need a crowd to see me in that naked state.

My friend then decided to rinse out my barf bowl in the tub. Unfortunately, the shower turned on and sprayed her instead of the barf bowl. When the other guests got upstairs she looked like she had had a shower. I guess so much for her good deed!

So that is what I mean by “leaving the party before your guests do”.
