The Blitz
Everyone stands around at a party and chats. Nothing new there. It’s the people that come into a convo half way through that can distort things. I was standing in a group of women discussing having another child. You know how it goes, “So have you and your husband discussed having another baby?” Depending on the mind set or the amount of drinks a woman has had the answer is usually “NOOOOOOOO!”
Anyway, we were in the midst of talking the baby talk. I had just asked a mother of 3 if she was going to go for #4 when her husband walked up and joined the conversation.
He proceeded to tell all of us that they were “going for it. It was a total blitz! They were leaving the kids with their grandparents, who incidentally knew what the couple was up to, and they were going to hit the town and just get it done in one day.”
He thought he was talking about going Christmas shopping. He was a little embarrassed when he found out his blitz was for the wrong thing. A few of us were disappointed when we heard the real blitz was Christmas shopping not a love fest, we were all looking at him a little differently!

Between the Sheets
- 2 oz white tequila
- 6 oz fresh grapefruit soda
- 1/2 oz limejuice
- Cinnamon
- Salt/sugar for rimming (optional)
Rim a tall glass with salt/sugar. Fill the glass with ice and add the tequila and limejuice. Top it off with grapefruit soda. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top

Just taking time to do your nails should be a nice pampering experience. If you find yourself either alone or with a bunch of girlfriends and need something to do here are some suggestions. These are some of my go tos that keep me cheerful. Keep in mind these are things that my girlfriends and I have all done for a fun evening or for a raining day, they are a guide and you can tailor them to your tastes!
Get your favourite music and sing your heart out, dance but be careful not to dent or smudge your nails!
A few good magazines and a glass of wine, cup of tea or a latte.
