Hangover

I held my first annual martini party in April. I had all the different liquors, shakers, glasses and tons of ice. I did think to have some appetizers at the party as well. I was greeting people and handing them ice cold drinks as they walked in the door.

I had a few friends that had just popped over for one drink because they had to jet somewhere else. One drink turned into two and then into 5….

People were staying late. It turned into quite a get together. One of my girlfriends, who was new to my crowd and isn’t a big drinker except for this nite, fell over in the kitchen. It really isn’t a good thing when you have a guest lying on the floor at a party. My friend Paul, who really isn’t a drinker, offered to take her home. As she was new to the crowd, she was worried that Paul may try to put the moves on her. He didn’t, he was just being the gentleman he always is, and was simply driving her home. Anyway, to put Amy’s mind at ease, a chaperone was chosen to accompany them, Kelly.

Kelly got into the back of the car with her appletini and off the three of them went. By this time Amy couldn’t remember where she lived so it was a good thing Kelly was with them. Amy made it home, she did spend a bit of time fertilizing the bushes in front of her house, but no plants died.

Amy made it into her house safely and Paul and Kelly headed back to my house. The party was still going strong. By this time I’m sure it looked like a train wreck. Everyone was just smashed. Whose bright idea was it to have a party and only serve martinis anyway?

When the last person left, I was in the kitchen by the window. The guest waved at me in the window. Unfortunately I was throwing up in the kitchen sink instead of waving back. Let me just say never again! The hangover wasn’t worth it as almost every single person at that party could attest to.  Paul, being one of the only people without a hangover, had another problem. He found a sticky substance all over his back seat. He laughed when he realized it was appletini. Don’t worry it wipes off leather really easily!Leaving the party before your guests do.
