Christmas Cards
If you are like me you look forward to Christmas every year. Ok, not all the work associated with it, but the good things like getting together with people you haven’t seen in a while, parties, singing carols, Christmas cards, the list is long.
Last year, as December rolled in our family started getting Christmas cards. My husband has a lot of business contacts, so I do open a few cards where I don’t know who the people are. When I opened the first card from someone I didn’t know I didn’t really think about it. I figured it must be from one of Chris’ work associates.

I then received another card from someone I didn’t know-I asked Chris if he knew them and he said he didn’t. Ok that was a bit weird. We then got a card from a “new” neighbor. They were kind enough to give us a picture of themselves so we could say hi when we saw them. Let me just say they looked freaky.

We then received cards from tons of people we didn’t know, most of them included pictures. (Not the prettiest people you have ever seen) All of the people in the cards knew details about our lives and made comments or asked questions which made us wonder who the hell was behind all of these cards. I really got nervous when I received a card from England.  The people claimed they went to university with me.
Chris and I started to comb through our friends. We tried to see who was behind this. We kept coming up empty-every friend we asked just denied it too well.

For three weeks the cards kept arriving. We got more and more freaky people claiming that they knew us. Most of these people did know a lot of our day-to-day details. I called my oldest friend and told her I was thinking of calling the police- I was so nervous. (If it was her I knew this would make her fess up) She thought I should call the police. Ok it wasn’t her.

One day we got a card from my neighbor asking if we hated them. They asked us to please forgive the joke. (it was pay back for some other pranks we had pulled on them) They had cooked up the Christmas card prank and were very proud of themselves! I must say knowing where the cards originated from made me feel a lot better. They really got us, they should be proud of themselves. I love a good joke as much as the next person but beware, payback is a bitch! We’re working on making the story copy appropriate for our audience. Even Cheeky Monkey needs to edit some things out. Stay tuned for a new story with a new laugh, or share your own, we love to hear them and share them, anonymously of course.
